Catastrophe or Inconvenience?

“Know the difference between a catastrophe and an inconvenience.” ~ Bruce Lee (Thanks Fran’s Daily Quotes)

There are times when things are BOTH a Catastrophe AND an Inconvenience? After all, why limit bullshit to just ONE?

Yesterday and to a lesser degree today, the wind has taken a toll on many of the older trees in this community. Very specifically, an old tree (think at least 80 years old) took out at least 3 other trees in front of my home last night. In the dark, rainy and windy night.

It is quite disconcerting to hear that CRACK that foretells the falling of a tree. It is quite distinct. Once you’ve heard it, you never forget it. Kinda like a tornado.

I love my trees and will miss this one. So will the birds in my yard. In fact, I saw a woodpecker, walking up and down the trunk as if to figure out what exactly happened.

My other catastrophe/inconvenience? My basement flooded. Standing water that comes in just long enough to fuck things up,but doesn;t stick around long enough to be pumped out.

Just More Bullshit. Happy Wednesday!

Thanks for reading!

  1. I’m really sorry to hear about the challenges you’ve been facing. It’s always hard to lose something that has been a familiar and comforting presence for so long. Cheers
